The Village of Saint-Geniès-de-Fontedit
Saint-Geniès-de-Fontedit is a pretty medieval village formed in a traditional circulade with the church at the centre. There is a friendly community that often gathers at Casse pas la Tete bar/cafe for drinks and social events.
Key events during the year are:
La Foire des Grenouilles (mid to end of May 2024, usually the Sunday before whit Monday) 19 May 2024
Feu de la Saint-Jean (2024 date TBC) Local children parade through the village streets with lanterns to the square where the bonfire is lit, local music, dancing and of course wine and food.
Bastille Day Celebrations (14th July) Tickets can be bought at the Mairie.
La Fete (Date to be confirmed – August 2022 -Thursday to Sunday). 3 evenings of entertainment: different bands playing each night, DJ, foam party, fairground attractions. Entrance is free and food/drink is available to buy.
Musical Thursdays – free musical events throughout the summer providing a range of different types of music for all to enjoy.
